One Direction caused hysteria as they performed on America's 'Today' show in New York yesterday (12.03.12).
The British boy band - Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson - were watched by 15,000 screaming fans as they sang their hit songs at the city's Rockefeller Plaza.
The group performed three tracks - 'What Makes You Beautiful', 'One Thing' and 'More Than This' - and admit they've been overwhelmed by the reaction they've had in the States.
Zayn - who was put together with his bandmates during the 2012 series of the UK's 'X Factor' - told the show's hosts Ann Curry and Matt Lauer: "Since we got put together, we've made four best friends, you know, we've lived together, we're on the road and we do something that we love every single day, so for us that's the most amazing part.
"The only downside is we don't see our friends and family as much as we'd like to but other than that, you know, we're just enjoying everything that, you know, life is throwing at us at the minute, so."
One Direction - whose album 'Up All Night' is released today (13.03.12) - have proved hugely popular with US audiences while supporting band Big Time Rush, and they are scheduled to appear on 'Saturday Night' Live next month as they try to further break the US market.
